Finding the right childcare can be challenging, especially for a child with special needs. When you need to travel,
de-stress, become sick, or just need some personal time, turn to Broward Children’s Center’s Respite Program.
Broward Children’s Center offers Respite to parents and families, providing a temporary break from the day-to- day
care of their child with special needs. Whether in client homes, or at one of our centers in Pompano Beach, or
Dania Beach, our trained and experienced Respite professionals deliver high-quality care for a few hours, or a few
days, to keep families healthy, happy, and together.
Eligible recipients of Respite include:
- Broward County residents
- Infants, children, and young adults (ages birth to 17) with a diagnosis of autism, cerebral palsy, a delay in
language, cognitive, or physical development, or any special medical condition
- Special events
- Monthly social and activity groups
- Parent support groups
- Child Care Aware

Broward Children’s Center is proud to be a provider for Child Care Aware ® of
America’s Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP), a national
partnership between Child Care Aware of America and the U.S. Navy and Air
Force, to provide Respite services to active duty members that have children
with special needs in Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

All families using Broward Children’s Center’s Respite services must preregister prior to receiving services. Once
completed, an intake appointment will be scheduled. To get started, download and fill out the preregistration form.

Funding for Respite is provided by the Broward County Children’s Services Administration Division and United Way
of Broward County. Co-payment fees are based on a sliding scale, ranging from $0 to $4 per visit. No family will be
denied services due to an inability to pay.
