The Nutrition Education Program at Broward Children’s Center is designed to educate and demonstrate food
preparation and cooking for children with special needs.
Our interactive monthly classes are held by Registered Dieticians, Nutrition Staff, and members of our Therapy and
Social Services programs.
Class topics include:
- Gluten-Free Truths and Myths
- Healthy Snacking on a Budget
- Sensory Challenges in Nutrition
- Diet and Behaviors
Classes are completely free, and open to all parents and caregivers of children with special needs. Participants will
enjoy networking with other special needs families, free cooking samples and recipes, and a full bag of healthy
groceries to take home.
Childcare during classes will be provided free, or at a subsidized cost, based on income, child’s diagnosis, and/or
class availability. Healthy snacks and special activities will be provided.
Individual Nutritional Consultations and Special Needs Case Management are also available to those who are
interested and qualify.
Nutrition Education classes are held in both Pompano Beach and Dania Beach locations.
