2013 | Broward Children's Center

In January 2013, Broward Children’s Center celebrated the grand opening of the Allied Kitchen and Bath
and Lyoness Foundation Recreation Center. The space was created to incorporate technology, arts and crafts,
and leisure (movie and gaming zones with a large projection screen, a Wii console, Kinect, and surround sound)
providing the opportunity to enrich the quality of life for disables children, through play, therapy, and socialization.

In addition, the Snoezelen Room was also added to the Center. The room was created to provide an environment for
children to develop through increased awareness of their surrounding by calming and stimulating their senses of sight,
sound, touch, and smell. The room gives children the opportunity to focus on targeted senses through teacher/clinician
directed activities, compatible with the child’s age, sensory status, physical ability, and cognitive function.
